Introduction
With great pleasure we are hosting Zach Koch, presenting him in Italy with a comprehensive solo exhibition, where his most recent digital production will be examined in the broadest context of his evolutionary path in the past years, starting from the oil painting.
A great poet of the digital generations’ imaginary, and expert as well in the classic techniques and the figurative renewal of the great masters, Koch incorporates in his artworks a “spirit of the age” balancing between romantic transiency and permanence of the absolute.
In Koch’s actual expression we find the collective imaginary originating in the last decades trans-generationally gathered, with the preponderant presence of media cults belonging to the video-ludic and electronic culture. An imaginary that is multifarious and yet well-defined, only apparently boisterous, because it is as much faceted and hectic as the ocean of visions produced by, and addressed to, a world of seven billions individuals.
Those who can understand the longings of the human soul by reading between the lines of the mass thinking, will be able to find in Koch’s artworks a profound serenity and an overflowing vitality, inspired by the primal willpower to exist and resist despite all the obstacles imposed by this absurd world, away from the contradictions of a violent and egotistic society and of a civilisation built on the victims of hatred.
Incognito Truth
Zach Koch’s expression, strong of his excellent mastery control in the painting technique and his deep admiration for the great classics, evolves with decisive and big steps towards the search for more freedom from technical constraints and cultural premises, expanding with enthusiasm thanks to the digital medium, becoming testimony of the undeniably intrinsic potentiality that the malleable meta-substance of electronic matter offers to the expression of thought.
